Additionally, the USB-C ports, which also serve for charging, are now modular and user-replaceable. Lenovo has even gone so far as to separate the fan from the heat sink, allowing the user to clean the fan without having to renew the thermal paste. And Lenovo also thought of some nice details: Once the last screw of the floor cover, the middle one between the hinges, is opened, the floor cover pops open on its own in the middle area - without the need for a spudger.
All in all, it is no surprise that the T14 Gen 7 and the T16 Gen 5 receive a 10/10 grade for repairability at iFixit.

On the outside, the laptop is made entirely of matt black coated plastic, which is internally reinforced in the area of the base with a magnesium frame. This makes the ThinkPad laptop robust, but sometimes a little less stable than models with a full metal housing.
A very annoying feature of this unit: the housing creaks a little in the right area of the palm rest. This was not the case with the identical Lenovo ThinkPad T14 G4 Intel, but Lenovo should have such quality fluctuations under control.
Pro
+
Efficient AMD processor
+
Many ports & security features
+
RJ45 Ethernet
